    Kremnica Mint and Town Trip

    It was king Charles Robert in 14th century who gave privileges of free royal and mining town. A special privilege was that of coinage. The mint of Kremnica, – the world oldest still running mint.

    The mint of Kremnica also produced the ducats, which were highly praised for their quality and beauty and joined the most favourite coins in Europe. We walk around the town square and admire its dominant – the castle and the gothic church of St. Catherine. Baroque Trinity Pillar.

    Visit of museum of coins and medals gives us more information about the craft of coinage and its tradition in Kremnica.
