    Copper Town Banska Bystrica Trip

    Only 2hours through the green countryside, rolling hills and we are in a cultural and economic centre of central Slovakia.

    Banska Bystrica belonged in the old days to the three richest Slovak mining towns.

    Nicknamed as a copper town for tis mining activities in the era. We walk around the square, climb up to the “leaning” Clock tower to get the best views. We still can see some of the original town walls three bastions. Admire the Thurzo house.

    In 1944 it became the centre of the Slovak National Uprising. The second largest insurrection against the German Nazi regime. We enter the museum of Slovak National Uprising. A unique and informative.
